Your Birmingham newborn Photographer
I have photographed newborn sessions all over the southeast (from Birmingham, Florence, Huntsville, Auburn, and Tuscaloosa in Alabama to Nashville and Memphis in Tennessee). Although I consider myself a Birmingham photographer, I'm willing to travel anywhere to capture your memories.
My photos are full of life and contrast mixed with a little bit of mood. I love making art out of the everyday, and I like sessions that are a little less-posed and a lot more genuine. I've learned a thing or two after capturing hundreds of clients. I will be your guide through the entire session, your calming presence, and your comedic relief in the midst of chaos. I've learned to let the session happen, not to force anything, and am a pro at capturing amazing images when it feels a mess. And I am well-versed in working with the natural lighting in clients' homes.
Look, I get it - being in front of a camera can be intimidating and feel awkward. Just follow my lead and you will get amazing images full of emotion. We will play games, and maybe even sing and dance. I will crack jokes, and might even play a song talking about these fleeting moments that will get you teary-eyed.
All that to say, you're in the best hands when it comes to a newborn photographer. I'm happy you're here and can't wait to hear from you!

I want to do your memories justice. And to do that, I want to make sure we're a great fit - like we could get coffee and hang great fit. Because if we mesh well, you will have a great time and your photos will show it. So tell me a little more about your life, your personality, your family's personality, your favorite place to travel, things you love, things you hate, your journey to parenthood, etc. I want to know it all.

I will reach out to you with any additional questions, and we will discuss dates for your session. (Hint: Most newborn sessions are scheduled to take place anywhere from 2-4 weeks after your due date.) Once we've agreed upon a date, I will send you a booking link to lock in your session.
**I typically book out 6 months in advance, and only take a limited number of sessions each month, so I can truly serve each client to the best of my ability. Most clients book their maternity and newborn sessions as soon as they find out they are pregnant. So don't delay in reaching out! That said, if you are interested but feel like you are too late to book, still reach out.
This is where we get into the details of your session. Newborn sessions come with a complimentary virtual styling session for your family. My clients have loved this addition to their sessions, because it truly is the easy button for thinking through your outfits. You will fill out a questionnaire with a stylist, and she will send you coordinating outfits for the family WITH shopping links. It doesn't get any easier than that. I will also help you think through all of the details beforehand, because I what you to spend all of your time after your baby arrives soaking up the sweet newness of you family.
3. Planning
At this point, all of the details are ironed out. Your clothes are planned, and all you need to do is get your beautiful family ready for our fun day. Get ready to create some beautiful memories!
4. the DAY!
You will receive a gallery in your inbox within 6 weeks of your session. I will communicate with you along the way updating you on the status of your gallery.
Once you receive your gallery, I will provide custom recommendations for beautiful prints for your home.

Kate took my family newborn pictures when my youngest was born. I also had a 2-year-old at the time, which you can imagine made it much more complicated. Kate never got frustrated with the chaos and never made me feel rushed when the photoshoot took longer than expected due to nursing breaks, diaper changes, and the nature of a "terrible twos" toddler. The pictures that Kate took were incredible. She captured all of our personalities perfectly and I will treasure these pictures forever. In addition to the amazing photos, Kate is an absolute JOY to be around, and you will feel so loved the entire time.
