Your Birmingham Family Photographer
I have photographed families all over the southeast (from Nashville, Tennessee to Birmingham, Alabama to Pensacola, Florida). Although I consider myself a Birmingham family photographer, I'm willing to travel anywhere to capture your memories.
My photos are full of life and contrast mixed with a little bit of mood. My outdoor family sessions are known for that beautiful backlit golden hour. I love making art out of the everyday, and I like sessions that are a little less-posed and a lot more genuine. I've learned a thing or two after capturing hundreds of clients. I will be your guide through the entire session, your calming presence, and your comedic relief in the midst of chaos. I've learned to let the session happen, not to force anything, and am a pro at capturing amazing images when it feels a mess.
Look, I get it - being in front of a camera can be intimidating and feel awkward. Just follow my lead and you will get amazing images full of emotion. We will play games, and maybe even sing and dance. I will crack jokes, and your kids will enjoy being kids during the session.

Because if we mesh well, you will have a great time and your photos will show it. Save your date! I typically book out 6 months in advance, and only take a limited number of sessions each month, so I can truly serve each client to the best of my ability.
So, book as soon as you can to save your date!
This is where we get into the details of your session. I will provide styling guidance for your session and will help you think through all of the details beforehand, so our session will go as smoothly as possible.

At this point, all of the details are ironed out. Your clothes are planned, and all you need to do is get your beautiful family ready for our fun day. Get ready to create some beautiful memories!
4. The day!
You will receive a gallery in your inbox within 6 weeks of your session. I will communicate with you along the way updating you on the status of your gallery.
Once you receive your gallery, I will provide custom recommendations for beautiful prints for your home.

Kate took my family newborn pictures when my youngest was born. I also had a 2-year-old at the time, which you can imagine made it much more complicated. Kate never got frustrated with the chaos and never made me feel rushed when the photoshoot took longer than expected due to nursing breaks, diaper changes, and the nature of a "terrible twos" toddler. The pictures that Kate took were incredible. She captured all of our personalities perfectly and I will treasure these pictures forever. In addition to the amazing photos, Kate is an absolute JOY to be around, and you will feel so loved the entire time.
